Keep your customers charged and engaged
A compact, self-service power bank rental station for pubs, cafés and high-footfall venues. 8 power banks, no cables, no hassle, no staff time required.

Low phone battery creates friction for customers
When a customer's battery hits red, they start thinking about leaving. WattMate can help them stay longer and reduce those lost-sales moments.
Customers tend to stay longer
When their phone is charging, there's less reason to rush off. Dwell time has a direct link to spend.
Fewer charger requests
Reduces the "can I borrow a charger?" interruptions to staff. Customers sort it themselves.

Dead simple, that's the point
Three steps. Customers can scan a QR code or use contactless card and wallet payments — no app required for card payments.
Take it anywhere
They keep the power bank with them while they're in your venue — at the bar, at a table, wherever.
Return to the same station
When done, it slots back in, recharges automatically, and is ready for the next person. No staff involvement needed.
Scan QR or tap to rent
Customer scans a QR code via their phone, or taps a contactless card, Apple Pay or Google Pay on the built-in card reader.
Low risk to try.
Easy to scale.

Why I started this
I kept noticing the same thing in pubs and cafés around Auckland: customers hovering near the bar asking staff to charge their phone, or cutting their night short because their battery was nearly dead. It's a small friction point, but it happens constantly.
Power bank rental has been common in parts of Asia and Europe for a few years now. The hardware has matured, the payment tech works well, and the concept is straightforward. It seemed like the right time to bring it to NZ hospitality venues.
This is an early-stage rollout. I'm looking to work with a small number of pilot venues in Auckland to get real usage data and make sure the setup works well in practice. The arrangement is low-risk by design.
If you run a venue and are curious about trialling one, I'd be happy to have a no-pressure conversation. Get in touch below.
